A Special Day
for Samantha

STARBASE student, Samantha expressed that she wanted to be a military pilot when she grew up so we invited her the welcome ceremony for the Thunderbirds when they arrived in Cheyenne on July 21, 2008 at the Wyoming Air Guard base. Samantha is pictured here with Major Samantha Weeks (how about that--same first names), the first female solo pilot for the Thunderbirds. Major Weeks flies the #5 jet for the Air Force Aerial Demonstration Group. The Thunderbirds are performing for the fifty-fifth consecutive year at Cheyenne Frontier Days.
